I will be by your side during every step of the college application process. I see myself as a dream facilitator, and my greatest joy is seeing a student achieve their hopes and dreams. Throughout the process, I am there for the student and family to provide comprehensive college counseling services, offer encouragement, keep students on top of deadlines, and answer all questions, whether critical or minor.
Pam works with each student and family to identify their goals and target schools. We will then set up a comprehensive college application plan to follow. She aims to guide first-year students, transfer students, and international students of all backgrounds and academic abilities to succeed in college and realize their full potential. Professional Background
Pam completed her certification in College Counseling at UCLA, earning her Certificate with Distinction. She attended Stony Brook University and received a B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Urban and Policy Sciences. Pam has always had a passion for education and children. After successfully guiding her children through the independent schools in Los Angeles and the college process, Pam decided that her greatest desire was to help other students succeed in the college process. Her children have attended the University of Southern California, New York University, and San Diego State University. For the past 12 years, Pam has been successfully steering hundreds of students from all walks of life on their college journey, staying in touch with them throughout their college years and transcending into a friendship. In addition to founding and running Helping Hand College Guidance, Pam Ohriner remains informed on standardized testing and has worked for Princeton Review. She stays current on college information by consistently touring universities and colleges, attending professional conferences and workshops, volunteering in schools, meeting with admissions staff, and networking with fellow professionals. Pam has provided free college workshops at various Los Angeles County public libraries, including Westwood Public Library, Malibu Public Library, and Woodland Hills Public Library. Her college application essay writing workshops and presentations on the college process are always immensely popular. Pam takes great pride in her approach to college counseling, which is very individualized and tailored to each student’s needs.
